World XC record Broken!
I have just received word from my instructor in South Africa that the world open distance record was broken this weekend in South Africa with South African pilot Neville Hullet flying 507 kms after launching in Cooperton in the Northern Cape, which is very dry and hot so he obviously capitalised on some massive thermals.
The previous record was set in Brazil at a distance of 461 kms.
